Day -350 before the event
We already know that you are meticulously crossing off the days remaining until the event on your calendar, systematically flipping through the pages of the digital book, sharing your anxiety in the WhatsApp group, and exercising patience. After all, we can only host one event per year.
A few months before
The registrations are now open, for God's sake! Register now, as it's cheaper and you'll have a better chance to choose workshop slots.
1. Wait until the night before the event starts (it's important to sleep even if anxiety doesn't allow it).
2. On the specified date, make your way to the venue. If you prefer, arrive a couple of hours before everything begins; you're likely to encounter another anxious Origami enthusiast in the area. You can have lunch together (or in an extreme case, breakfast), enjoy a coffee, and wait until it's 3 o'clock (we've learned that setting up the expo takes half an hour).
3. Claim your kit, and if you folded something for the Expo, proceed to set it up. Wait calmly while you check the kit's contents (make a mental list of what you'll need to complete the box for the following day).
4. Ready for the 'canelazo' and the inauguration. By this time, you're sure to have folded something in the hallways, caught up with old friends in your notebook, or met your weekend crew.
5. Prepare yourself to not sleep tonight either.
6. Please get some sleep! ;)
Wait for day 2
0. Since you couldn't fall asleep early and finally managed to sleep around 4 am, hurry up because you're going to be late.
1. While you're on your way to the event, whether it's by Transmi, bus, taxi, Uber, or even running, access the website and select your workshops. Don't panic if it doesn't let you in; perhaps it's not your turn yet. If you're the one driving, pull over to register; do not use your phone while driving.
2. Dedicate yourself to folding all day, mentally prepare for the group photo. If you're cautious, you already know where you're going to have lunch. If not, no worries: there are groups that have already scoped out the area, join the one that catches your attention the most.
3. Overcoming sleepiness, attend the afternoon workshops and get ready for the chocogami. And for heaven's sake, if you signed up for the cards, turn them in because they've been looking for you since yesterday.
4. Only if you're of legal age, get ready for the chiva (you won't be sleeping tonight either).
Wait for day 3
1. If you managed to get up, see you at the event.
2. Everything else is the same as the second day.
3. Award ceremony, closing, hot chocolate. You will feel a slight nostalgia that will last until the next event.
It's possible that unplanned activities may come up. Stay tuned on the event's WhatsApp group; excitement might lead us to meet up for two consecutive weeks. If you feel like it at any point, we'll see each other.
